You might have heard about SOPA — The Stop Online Piracy Act. It’s a controversial bill proposed and backed by major content creators, designed to make it easier for them to protect their copyrighted works from being stolen by rogue file sharing sites that facilitate infringement.
There shouldn’t be any controversy at all. While it might sound noble, the bill is idiotic, an over-reaction designed to put ultimate power in the hands of mega-corporations who can easily abuse the law to stop everything from content sharing services to competitors for eyeballs they’d like to wipe out, furthering their own monopolistic maneuverings.
That Congress would even consider this travesty is yet another sign of who’s really running things in Washington these days – . . . → Read More: SOPA Dopa

Serious publishers thrive on research, but – let’s be honest — research can be boring. That’s why I always suggest you pick a subject that’s near to your heart, something you’re interested in yourself. Research is a lot more fun when you’ve chosen a topic you enjoy learning more about. Still, research itself is usually less than fun.
How would you feel about doing research for your social publishing needs by watching TV?
Can you possibly learn about anything others might want to know by watching re-runs of “Gilligan’s Island?” Probably not, unless the subject you’ve selected happens to be the history of cheesy TV sitcoms. Most television is pretty much crap, but certain types of shows are actually loaded with interesting . . . → Read More: Video Research Can Be Fun!

I don’t think I’m the only person on earth who feels like the “Internet marketing” industry has hit the crapper.
Don’t get me wrong. Internet marketing is the bomb. It’s the most effective way to reach the largest audience of potential buyers there is. If you know what you’re doing, you can launch or build any business or sell anything you might want online.
Sadly, the industry has been heading into the tubes for quite a while now and no one seems willing to talk about the real reasons why – or what can be done to avoid falling over the edge with it.
I hope this report opens your eyes and puts you on the right path to success.

Back in May, I provided you parts one and two of The Fundamental You, a video training I created a couple of years ago. I finally got part three to you a couple of days ago. Taken together, this four-part series tackles one of the most important aspects of a topic I covered in my book, Will Work for Fun: 3 Simple Steps for Turning Any Hobby or Interest Into Cash, from John Wiley Books.
Now, with this “episode,” you’ll have the complete four-part training. Patience has its rewards!
In case you missed any of the previous three parts, here are links where you can find them:

I just added something cool to the Info-Publishing and Marketing Portal.
Building online relationships is about the best way to make money online today. Unfortunately, this requires frequent contact with your email list, with followers in your social networks and with visitors to your blogs, Websites and social media sites. Often, more frequent than you or I would care or are able to keep up with.
Coming up with something new to tell everyone about or point them to can be a daunting task. That, of course, is what the Info-Publishing and Marketing Portal is all about! Uncle Alan’s here to help!
One thing that can really help you with is something I call Q-Cards – photos and graphics with funny, thought-provoking . . . → Read More: Q-Cards: Free Relationship-Builders For You

Back in May, I provided you parts one and two of The Fundamental You, a video training I created a couple of years ago. At the time, I promised I’d post parts three and four “in the next week or so.”
It turns out “or so” won – and it was six months.
I’ll bet you thought I forgot. I did, but that doesn’t make it right to call your Uncle Alan on it — so show some respect, will ya?
Seriously – I apologize for the delay. Here’s part 3 of The Fundamental You – the complete training in making yourself memorable the easy way, by accenting the real you. I originally charged $297 for this training when it was conducted . . . → Read More: It’s All About You — Part 3

I recently posted here about sharpening your writing. Ink-U-Bator Forum Guest Expert Yvonne Lyon took me to task in the forum. Yvonne pointed out that you should always write to a fifth-grade level, so she generally gets her thoughts down when it comes to blog posts.
This is correct, of course. I also pointed out in the post that writing sharper, more concise and more grammatically correct should always be secondary to getting the message out, however you have to do it. Diving into The Elements of Style, using your grammar checker with your spell checker and enlisting the aid of reluctant friends and neighbors to read what you’ve written out loud before your final edit are all extra steps I recommend, . . . → Read More: Give To Get

Publishing online for profit is all about focus.
I hear it all the time from clients I’ve worked with, people struggling far too long to make money from their online publishing efforts who come to me for help. Nine times out of ten, they lack focus. Even those who are dead-set on success, even the ones who do all the required steps and publish, staying totally focused on the tasks required to get there and following through, are missing one aspect of focus that is vital to their success.
The problem: They’re still not focusing enough on their audience.
Everything else might be crystal-clear but, without a solid focus on your core audience, if you’re not crystal clear about the . . . → Read More: Your Ideal Audience

How you say something is never as important as what you have to say. But, saying things the right way can make a world of difference in the weight that what you have to say carries.
I’ve always held that you don’t have to write anything at all to be a profitable social publisher today. It’s true. You don’t. But, if you do write, even just a little, it can add tremendous power to your efforts … unless you screw it up.
Here’s what I’m talking about:
Your someone special.
What’s wrong with the above sentence? If you see it, you know where I’m going with this. If you don’t – you need what I’m about to show you.

I just posted something on Facebook that I figured would either get a lot of comments and sharing going or lose some more Facebook friends. Either way, it’s sure to drive some traffic to the Info-Publishing and Marketing Portal.
I’ve shared what I put on Facebook with you here on this post.
I make no apologies for the fact that I’m a liberal. I have been since I was about 11. I express my views on a lot of things on my Facebook page. Sometimes they reveal the libeal side of me. It’s who I am and always have been for most of my life, so I figure that’s what folks on Facebook would want to see.
But – I’m . . . → Read More: Viral Facebook Traffic
