Viral Facebook Traffic

by “Uncle” Alan R. Bechtold

I just posted something on Facebook that I figured would either get a lot of comments and sharing going or lose some more Facebook friends. Either way, it’s sure to drive some traffic to the Info-Publishing and Marketing Portal.

I’ve shared what I put on Facebook with you here on this post.

I make no apologies for the fact that I’m a liberal. I have been since I was about 11. I express my views on a lot of things on my Facebook page. Sometimes they reveal the libeal side of me. It’s who I am and always have been for most of my life, so I figure that’s what folks on Facebook would want to see.

Forum Power

forum

by “Uncle” Alan R. Bechtold

Launching a forum is great way to kick some life into any Website or blog. It doesn’t matter what niche you’re in or what you sell — or if you sell at all – a forum will allow your audience to interact with one another in a way your blog simply can’t.

Your audience is seeking a community. Even if your entire goal is publishing free advertiser-supported information, the key to all marketing, moving forward, is creating a community around your product, service or free online publication. It simply doesn’t matter. If you want to build your audience, I suggest you provide them a forum.

It took me a long time to realize this aspect of social publishing. I came . . . → Read More: Forum Power

What Does Your Target Market Want?

It's more than "in a nutshell" -- it's the whole nut!

by “Uncle” Alan R. Bechtold

What your target market wants most and will buy most often depends on the particular niche you’ve chosen to serve.

It's more than "in a nutshell" — it's the whole nut!

I wish I had a more definitive answer for you, but that’s it. It’s not “it in a nutshell” — it’s the whole nut.

Some people foolishly create a product, build a sales system, then they start hammering away with the marketing, only to learn what their target market doesn’t want. While this can certainly be useful information, wouldn’t it be better to find out what your audience most wants and is willing to pay to get before you risk the time, energy and resources creating or . . . → Read More: What Does Your Target Market Want?

Email-Fail – The Subject Is A Lie

HappyClickbankAffiliate-150x150

by “Uncle” Alan R. Bechtold

I promised more fun, then I got serious in my most recent posts. Go figure! We’ll return with part three of my “Stop Buying Bullshit and Get Cranking” series in a bit.

First…

My “in” box brought me something fun today! I thought I’d share it with you. It seems like a great way to start a weekend, to me.

This is an email that’s a complete marketing fail – and a perfect example not to follow. You do know it’s just as important to know what not to do as it is to know what to do? This is a definite not!

The subject line started things off on the wrong foot:

“Subject: Alan [INVOICE #265] PAYMENT OWED: $2,995″

So – What the Hell DOES Google Want?

You might have a love/hate relationship with Google. Like them or hate them, you need them, if you want to build an online business spending the least amount of money possible, you need to treat Google like your very best friend.

Google is today's Yellow Pages.

Face it. Google is the new Yellow Pages. You can run your business without it. There are other advertising options online. But, everything else is second-best or worse. The right Google listing can put you top-of-mind in your specific product or service niche, in the one place most people looking for what you sell consider as their primary online reference. Once there, that listing can generate traffic from prospects worldwide – delivering you . . . → Read More: So – What the Hell DOES Google Want?

– Break Free of the “Internet Marketing Rip-Off Machine” NOW! –

by “Uncle” Alan R. Bechtold

If you listen to 90% of the Internet marketing “gurus” online today, you’d think Google makes destroying small innovative businesses their priority. As I read their sales letters, watch their videos or listen to their teleseminars, I can almost feel the specter of the almighty Google beast hovering over me, giant pillow in its huge green hands, ready to smother any sign of marketing genius I might exhibit before it’s had a chance to breathe its first breath.

You can almost feel the specter of the almighty Google beast hovering over you, giant pillow in its huge green hands.

They’re lying. They want to frighten you and lying . . . → Read More: Stop Buying Bullshit!

A Senate Threat to Internet Neutrality?

GOBBLING-460_1013123c

by “Uncle” Alan R. Bechtold

The U.S. Senate rejected the Jobs Bill yesterday. What’s new? It’s what Congress seems to be doing best lately: stopping or stalling any action that could move the U.S. economy forward.

Unless (it seems) it’s legislation that benefits the major corporate aristocracy.

The FCC, already weakened to the point of ineffectiveness, is about to be weakened more.

I’ve heard recently, for example, that Republicans in the Senate now plan to introduce legislation designed to destroy the semblance of watered-down Net Neutrality we’ve all enjoyed online since the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted rules designed to protect the Internet, beginning in 2005.

According to reports, this new bill would strip the Federal Communications Commission of its ability to enforce its . . . → Read More: A Senate Threat to Internet Neutrality?

Just Social Media and a Meme…

Occupy-Wall-Street-demons-008

by Uncle Alan R. Bechtold

This eventually wraps itself back around to something of a marketing point, but it’s definitely a departure from the usual fare here. Please forgive me for some diverse discussion. Just take my hand and walk along with your ol’ Uncle Alan for a bit. It’ll be ok.

You’ve certainly heard about Occupy Wall Street. I noticed the major media, which has pretty much ignored it for about as long as they could get away with, now seems finally to have awakened. One CNN writer today referred to the protests as a movement.

Yesterday, I posted my own similar observation on my Facebook wall.

I definitely agree. It’s a movement now. A totally modern movement. It started and has maintained its . . . → Read More: Just Social Media and a Meme…

Reviews Reviewed

by “Uncle” Alan R. Bechtold

Far too many courses and e-books tell you to sell products or services by simply writing reviews, or by putting up quick YouTube videos raving about the product. Or,  they advise you to set up a site full of reviews slamming virtually everything…except for the only programs you’ve found that actually work.”

That last sentence is in quotes for obvious reasons. These don’t imply you actually have to try the programs you’re selling or even know anything about them … not even to review them. Many even offer you software capable of churning out dozens and dozens of reviews or entire review Websites at the push of a button.

Here’s a couple of examples to consider:

A Kernel Of Truth…

Frank's a master at branding...

by “Uncle” Alan R. Bechtold

Frankly,  a lot of Internet marketing beginners I know are too easily struck by what I call Kernalism. This is often first evidenced by a foggy look in the eyes,  followed closely by all sense of reason going out the window. It happens the first time they stumble onto Frank Kern’s brilliant online marketing.

It’s not surprising – nor is it accidental.

Frank Kern is a master of creating and selling information products – mostly about how to create and sell  information products. He definitely knows how it’s done and it makes perfect sense…for him.

Frank's a master at branding…

But,  Frank’s a total genius at online branding. He utilizes videos like few  marketers I’ve seen. He reveals much . . . → Read More: A Kernel Of Truth…
